What this is.

Common Roots describes a combination of farm education and community food access. Its programs include Farm to School learning and farm-based activities. The organization and South Village are separate directory records because an education operator is not the same thing as the residential community in which it works.

OUR EDITORIAL LEARNING LENS

What to learn here.

Study how a lesson can connect growing, preparing and sharing food rather than stopping at plant identification. For an educator, the valuable design question is what learners can do after a visit and how the activity supports the people who use it.

Your first useful step

Check the current program audience and eligibility with Common Roots, then use the food-literacy explorer to prepare an age-appropriate question for the session.

Read before you act.

Do not assume all programs are public drop-ins or that every farm site has the same access rules. Program participation and nonprofit support are separate decisions.

Sources you can inspect.
